Your Help is Needed: Personal Invitation to Volunteer in Transcribing and Translating the Testimonies of Srebrenica Genocide Survivors
Dear Friends,
As we all know, the Bosnian Genocide was one of the darkest chapters in human history. The atrocities committed during this time are beyond comprehension and have left deep scars on the survivors, their families, and the world. As time goes by, the number of survivors who can share their stories is dwindling, and it is more important than ever that we document and preserve their testimonies for future generations.
This is where you come in. We are currently in need of volunteers to help transcribe and translate the oral history testimonials of Srebrenica survivors. This is an incredibly important and meaningful task, as it will ensure that the survivors' stories are preserved and made accessible to people worldwide.
These testimonials are not only a record of one of mankind's darkest hours, but also a powerful reminder of the human capacity for both evil and good. By volunteering your time and skills, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that these stories are not forgotten, and that future generations will be able to learn from them.
I know many of you are busy with your own lives and responsibilities, but I implore you to consider donating some time to this important cause, which will make an enormous difference in the lives of Srebrenica survivors as well as an immeasurable contribution to the preservation of history.
We are in need of individuals with strong Bosnian/English language writing and translation skills to help transcribe and translate the oral history testimonials.
If you are interested in volunteering, please send your contact information to info@srebrenicamemorial.org.
The Memorial Center team is happy to provide you with any additional information or answer any questions you may have. Thank you for your consideration, and we look forward to hearing from you.
Sincerely,
Emir Suljagic
Director of the Srebrenica Memorial Center
